Mitch Smart works his way through 1 Corinthians 8-10 to explain that the Christian life is not about being bound by law and regulations, but about being free to serve God.
This is the second part in the 2 weeks of looking at 1 Corinthians 7 and what Paul has to say about relationships. This week we’ll delve into specifics about marriage, singleness, remarriage, divorce.
Here’s the first part of the 2 part series in 1 Corinthians 7 where Paul is talking about relationships. This first part looks at the middle verses in the chapter, looking at how Christians are called by God, and defined by him and not the classifications of this world.
Tolerance isn’t always the best way. Sometimes you need to make the hard calls. Christians aren’t what they used to be, so need to have communities that reflect what God is making them – people that look like Jesus.
Authentic Christian communities are about looking like Christ, not the world.
Division in God’s community is caused by a lack of understanding of God’s grace in Jesus. Leaders need to understand their place and their role, as those who drive God’s people to the cross.
God is saving the world through Christ crucified. Be wise and let it shape you.
